Naples. January 31st, 1700 . Within the gilded walls of the Real Teatro S.C., the opera is merely a distraction. The real performance takes place in the corridors, behind velvet curtains, and in the flickering glow of dying embers.

You are The Mask. You are the ghost in the machine of the world’s most prestigious theater. You are the one who ensures the lights stay bright and the secrets stay dark.

The rules of the trade:

• Keep the candles lit: The wax is unforgiving, and the darkness even more so. A theater in shadows is a theater of accidents.
• Guide the nobility: Lead the Lords and Ladies to their private boxes. Close the curtains and—most importantly—forget their faces before the latch even clicks.
• Deliver the unspoken: Carry missives between forbidden lovers and desperate politicians. Be swift and be precise; a war plan delivered to a lovesick countess is a death sentence written in your own blood.

In the grand hierarchy of Naples, you do not exist. You are a faceless servant, a silent witness to the sins of the elite. It is a lonely life, but a necessary one. After all, if they knew just how much you overheard... you would find yourself at the bottom of a canal before the first light of dawn.
